McAllen, TX – The City of McAllen is proud to announce the “Government for a Day” initiative, inviting all District 4 residents to join us on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Palmview Community Center. The event symbolizes the city’s commitment to ensuring that every resident feels connected to the services available to them.
Accessible City Services for All
“Government for a Day” serves as a vibrant platform for community members to familiarize themselves with city departments including the City Secretary, Engineering, Health & Code Enforcement, Passport Acceptance Facility, and more. It’s a day dedicated to accessibility, understanding, and community service.
Community Agencies: Invitation to Collaborate
In a bid to offer comprehensive support to our residents, special community agencies will be invited to participate. Their presence aims to enhance the range of services and information available, making it a truly inclusive event for all attendees.
Agenda Highlights:
- 9:00 a.m. — Start the day with registration and refreshments courtesy of Rudy.
- 10:00 a.m. — Opening remarks, featuring an introduction to the “Government for a Day” program and a proclamation by Mayor Javier Villalobos.
- 11:45 a.m. — A recap of the morning’s sessions and a chance for attendees to engage in a Q&A session.
- 12:00 p.m. — An opportunity to mingle and gather information from city department tables over lunch.
